Toward the end of his career, Dominique Wilkins transiently played for the Boston Celtics.

And although some people harshly criticize Boston for some pretty negative things, Wilkins enjoyed his time in Bean Town during and without his career concluded.

Speaking to DJ Vlad, via NBACentral, Wilkins said that he never experienced any of the racism that others have spoken out against:

“I lived in Boston five years without I retired. I really liked it a lot. I lived out in the suburbs in a place tabbed Dover, Massachusetts out near Wellesley, and I was treated very well. So for me, I didn’t see any of that personally.”

Boston is one of the most important cities in America, in terms of history, culture, and sports.

Sadly, over the years it has gained a reputation for having some fans do repugnant and offensive things to players and fans based on the verisimilitude of their skin.

But Wilkins claims that never unauthentic him.

In fact, he liked the municipality so much that he lived there without he retired, as he noted.

Multiple NBA stars, including LeBron James and Kyrie Irving, have commented on the racism they have experienced in Boston.

Recently, Celtics star Jaylen Brown has moreover touched upon it.

“It’s not the whole Celtic fan base, but it is a part of the fan wiring that exists within the Celtic nation that is problematic,” Brown said, via the New York Times.

This is something that the municipality of Boston and the NBA will protract to deal with and try to put overdue them.

They don’t want the villainous deportment of some fans to tarnish everything else.

It is good that Wilkins never experienced prejudice when he was living in Boston and hopefully, there will come a time when all NBA players are worldly-wise to say the same thing.
