Report: Nikola Jokic Tests Positive for the Coronavirus

Nuggets All-Star Nikola Jokic has tested positive for the coronavirus, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Brian Windhorst.

Jokic, who’s been asymptomatic, is currently in Serbia and his trip back to the United States to complete the 2019-20 NBA season has been delayed. He’ll reportedly be cleared to fly to Denver within a week.

Reporting with @WindhorstESPN: Nuggets star Nikola Jokic tested positive for the coronavirus in Serbia and his return to the U.S. is temporarily delayed. He’s been asymptomatic since testing positive last week. Jokic is expected to be cleared to travel to Denver within a week.

With training camps set to begin July 11th at the ESPN Sports Complex in Disney World, teams have begun the testing process and are bracing for the results.

As coronavirus testing for players heading to Orlando starts today, teams are bracing for significant numbers of positive tests. One Western Conference playoff team had four positives in past few weeks, per sources. Full training camps start on July 11 at Disney.

Jokic is averaging 20.2 points, 10.2 rebounds and 6.9 assists per game this year. Denver is the No. 3 seed in the West with a 43-22 record.
